For complete beginners, the first lesson will begin with an introduction to the safe use of tools and equipment, followed by a masterclass on making a sterling silver ring. The ring-making is a great introduction to working with metal, including the processes of measuring, sawing, soldering, texturing, basic forming, finishing and polishing. You don’t need to bring anything with you, everything is provided so all you need to do is turn up! The lesson lasts two hours, and at the end you’ll get to take home your finished rings.

Once you’ve made a silver ring, you can go on to work with silver, making various pieces of jewellery including rings, earrings, pendants and cuff links (if you’ve already had some jewellery-making experience, we can skip straight to this stage). You can choose to learn a variety of techniques, including enamelling, stone setting, letter stamping and more.
